Interior Painting & Decorating – Kent, Maidstone, Ashford, Folkestone
People tend to do interior painting & decorating themselves. Sure, everyone can paint but not everyone can be a painter and do the job professionally. Let T&J Painting Solutions take care of all you hard work quickly, assuring high quality and, what is the most important, within your budget.
Painting the ceiling
Painting the ceiling is not as difficult as it may seem but requires some skills and knowledge. Traditionally, people choose white matte finish. Before painting make sure to fill all the imperfections such as cracks, holes etc. Get rid of loose flaky bits of paint. The next step is to apply the primer which serves as stain blocker, gives better adhesion and in most cases makes it possible to use only one coat of paint. If the ceiling has lots of small cracks, then it is recommended to fill it and use special paint to stop further cracking.
Painting the walls
You can choose from 3 finishes of paint to decorate the walls.
Flat or know as matte finish – non shiny finish. This finish is harder to keep clean.
Silk finish – shiny finish.
Eggshell finish – is a low sheen somewhere between matte and silk. The finish is more durable and easier to clean than matte.
Painting the woodwork
You can choose between two finishes when it comes to decorating the woodwork.
Gloss finish – shiny finish, durable and hard wearing gloss finish specially formulated for use on interior wood & metal.
Satin finish – dull finish, tough, hard-wearing and dirt resistant. The finish does not require an undercoat.
Painting the bathroom / kitchen
The bathroom and kitchen should be painted with special paints such as Bathroom Paint and Kitchen paint.
